The Molecatcher
9th March, 2013
Having grown up around this song and others like it, I was delighted to find this version. It was a firm favourite of my Head Gardener (see journal entry "Alf") who used to sing it, and many more traditional Sussex songs around the local pubs....providing they kept him in beer for the night, although the later the evening got the more the words changed......eventually becoming too obscene even for my sensitive ears......
Good days (at least bits of them) the like of will never return.
The website for Bernard Wrigley who performed this version is www.bernardwrigley.com and his first album containing this song from 1971 is available through Amazon.
