The Holly and the Ivy...or clematis in this case!
9th January, 2013
A combination of Ilex cameliifolia and Clematis Ville de Lyon. I like to twist the odd clematis through shrub, obviously not a montana, alpina, or other vigorous species, but I find the odd weaker form that can be cut back to about 30cms (a foot) ideal. While they don't necessarily reach the heights of abundant flowering they do increase interest and are easy to propagate, so plants need cost very little if you use your intelligence and a tiny bit of skill and care.
