Stepover apples...initial pruning.
6th December, 2012
Stepover apple trees are a great and productive way to line or edge a path. It's not a difficult job to do yourself, pruning of fruit is not and art form, its a skill, and a skill that can be learnt pretty easily with some simple rules and understanding. The difficult part these days is having the patience to wait three or four years for worthwhile crops to be gathered, people want everything instantly in modern life, in which case you can save a year by buying one that i've already trained. But it'll cost you about £30 as opposed to £18 or thereabouts.
