How to offload a bent Holly as a Christmas gift....
3rd January, 2013
Sometimes its worth growing standard plants such as Bay or Holly with a twist or a curve in the stem. Not everyone has a suitable situation or the inclination for the formality of the typical straight stem, a little quirkiness or character goes a long way in the overall feel of a garden. Here the curve of a small border is reflected sympathetically by the Holly stem, were it straight it would look angular and harsh instead to my eye at least it looks softer with a tease of non conformity, no bad thing in some of todays gardens and landscapes.
