Agastache "Blackadder"
9th January, 2013
Wonderful plant from North America, introduced in its original form around 1826. Sometimes also called Anise or Fennel Giant Hyssop.
The leaves are scented and once used in making a supposedly pleasant herbal tea....however, my experience of herbal teas is that not only can't you get stoned on them, they almost invariably taste like warm badger piss....but that's a personal view as I am notoriously lacking in taste.
More importantly, the flowers are beloved by butterflies and bees who all adore the heady scent and abundant nectar. Wonderful plant.
